PSALM (BE)

Corvus
PSALM (BE)
PSALM is an extreme metal band hailing from Brussels, Belgium. A powerful mix between a solid black/death metal basis and thrash/power metal elements propels them at the forefront of the Belgian extreme metal scene. Their overall original and modern approach draws them close to such bands as Keep Of Kalessin and Behemoth, while maintaining their very own character.

The band started out in early 2004 but was only completed at the end of that year. Psalm soon decided to record a first and self-titled E.P., which came out around January/February 2005. The band also began playing shows wherever they could to spread the word out. During July 2005, a video was shot for track “Butterfly Suicide”.
Early 2006, PSALM had enough material to record their first album, and headed for Austin Enterprise studios (USA) to record “Fortune’s Complexity (In Five Cycles Of Torments)” with Steve Austin himself (Today Is The Day-mogul, worked by bands such as Lamb Of God, Converge,…), taking care of the mixing and the pre-mastering as well. "Fortune’s Complexity" was released on Genet Records in June 2006 and is a fierce mix of chaotic elements, metalcore and modern influences.
After huge line-up changes, PSALM decided to modify their musical orientation to fit their members’ influences better and thus took a very extreme turn. During November/December 2007, they recorded the E.P. “Manifest”, a much more coherent and relentless effort, at the infamous CCR Studio. Until today, PSALM has played with bands like Aborted, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cephalic Carnage, Despised Icon, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban, Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, The Acacia Strain, Fear My Thoughts, Leng Tch’e, Sworn Enemy, The Ocean, Amen Ra, Neaera, etc.
Psalm bass player, Corvus, cooperates with our company using an elegant black Jabba 5 bass. The instrument is equipped with Delano JB pickups, passive electronics and adorned with two acrylic pearl inlays: Psalm logo at 1st fret pole and musician's nick name at 12th fret pole. Here's what Corvus has to say about his Mayo axe: "I was sick of all my previous active basses and was looking for a top level passive bass with a personal touch. Mayones offers both!"

"First impressions: it looks great , sounds marvellously with my sans amp distortion and really add something to the Psalm sound." - he continues - "I finally have the precise, vicious and twisted bass sound I was looking for. With a normal instrument, you’ll probably find a decent sound when fixing your amps. With a top level instrument, whatever the adjustments on your amps are, it will always sound unique. Believe me – my Jabba belongs to the second category!"
