Miguel is a bass and double-bass player from Portugal, known mostly of the Portuguese jazz/pop-rock scene collaborations with such musicians and bands like e.g. André Sardet, Luis Moreno, Andre Fernandes, (Spill and Underpressure), Pedro Madaleno Trio, Fausto. Amado's first solo album - "Mensagens De Fumo" (jazz/funky style) has been published in 2004 by Guitar Nine Records - a guitar & bass oriented publisher which catalogue features also CDs of Michael Schenker, Noakie Edwards, George Benson, Steve Vai and lots of other superb players. Miguel teaches bass in Jazz School of the Hot Clube de Portugal. He's been currently working also on exclusive internet bass workshops for Mayones. Miguel plays 2 Comodous-5 Custom Basses, fretterd & fretless.

"Since our first contact, my relationship with Mayo (through Piotr and Dawid) has been trully fantastic and productive, comments Miguel. "For some years I've been looking for a specific bass sound, and in all the basses I've been playing I tried to get closer to that goal. I talked to both Piotr and Dawid, and we discussed all the options for quite some time, to finally reach the specs I chose for my first Mayo bass."

"And now - that I finally have the bass, and had the chance to play it both at home and onstage, all I can say is - now I have the bass sound I always had in mind, but did never quite reach before! Plus, it's a true pleasure to play one of the most beautiful instruments I have ever come across", adds Miguel. "My wish is to play Mayo basses for many, many years!"

The bass handmade by our luthiers for Miguel is Comodous-5, customized by 1 musicman-type Basslines pickup (+ coil-splitting in the push-pull volume pot) and Aguilar onboard OBP-3 preamp. Eye Poplar top in natural wood color, gloss finish, Schaller 2000 strings- thru-body bridge and a special inlay engraved in the trussrod cover, featuring letters: MiG.
